PSG Grant Ended in 2026: Your Complete Guide to the New EDGE Grant in Singapore

Last updated: 21 October 2026 | By Abundant Accounting (ABA)
If you are a business owner in Singapore planning to adopt accounting software, upgrade your business systems or improve productivity, there is an important government grant update you should know.
The Productivity Solutions Grant (PSG) officially ceased accepting new applications on 29 September 2026. From 30 September 2026, eligible businesses can apply for support under the new EDGE Grant.
The new scheme consolidates three familiar Singapore business grants into one programme, making it easier for companies to identify support for digitalisation, business transformation and overseas expansion.
For businesses considering accounting software such as Xero, grant support may still be available under EDGE, subject to eligibility and approval.
In this guide, we explain what has changed, how the EDGE Grant works, who can apply and how businesses can get started.
What Is the EDGE Grant in Singapore?
The EDGE Grant is a Singapore government business support programme administered by Enterprise Singapore.
Launched on 30 September 2026, EDGE combines three previous government grant schemes:
Productivity Solutions Grant (PSG)
Enterprise Development Grant (EDG)
Market Readiness Assistance (MRA)
Instead of navigating these separate schemes, businesses can now explore funding based on their specific needs through a consolidated framework.
The EDGE Grant supports more than 150 activities across eight business areas, including digitalisation, financial management, business strategy, innovation, internationalisation and sustainability.
In simple terms: EDGE is the new government grant framework for Singapore businesses seeking support to improve productivity, adopt technology and grow their operations.
PSG vs EDGE Grant: What Has Changed?
For Singapore SMEs previously familiar with PSG, the most important change is the transition to the new EDGE Grant application framework.
Feature | Previous PSG Grant | New EDGE Grant |
Application status | Closed to new applications | Open from 30 September 2026 |
Primary purpose | Productivity and digitalisation | Wider business development and transformation |
Funding for eligible SMEs | Up to 50% | Generally up to 50%; up to 70% for selected activities |
Funding cap | Up to S$30,000 | Up to S$100,000 annually across eligible activities |
Digitalisation cap | S$30,000 under PSG | S$30,000 annual sub-cap for specified digital and equipment activities |
Application platform | Business Grants Portal | Business Grants Portal |
Existing applications | Continue under PSG terms | New eligible applications under EDGE |
Although EDGE provides a wider range of support, funding is not automatically granted. Businesses must satisfy the relevant activity requirements.
How Much Funding Can Businesses Receive Under EDGE?
Eligible businesses may receive:
Up to 50% funding support for SMEs for most supported activities.
Up to 70% for SMEs for eligible internationalisation and sustainability activities.
Up to S$100,000 in total annual grant support across eligible activities.
The annual funding cap runs from 1 April to 31 March.
Within the overall S$100,000 annual cap, a combined S$30,000 sub-cap applies to specified digitalisation, enterprise system and pre-scoped equipment activities.
Example: Accounting Software Implementation
Suppose a Singapore SME receives approval for a qualifying accounting software implementation project costing S$6,000.
If the approved eligible project costs total S$6,000 and the approved support rate is 50%:
Description | Amount |
Eligible project cost | S$6,000 |
Illustrative grant support (50%) | S$3,000 |
Company's remaining cost | S$3,000 |
This is an illustration only. The actual grant amount depends on eligible costs, the selected activity and the funding approved by the authorities.
Who Is Eligible for the EDGE Grant?
Generally, businesses applying for EDGE must:
Be registered in Singapore.
Have at least 30% local ownership by Singapore citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents, directly or indirectly.
Meet any additional criteria applicable to the selected activity.
Apply before making project payments or commencing work.
For digital solutions, additional conditions may apply concerning prior funding, deployment location and the intended business use.
Important: Businesses should not assume that qualifying under the previous PSG Grant automatically guarantees approval under EDGE.
Can Businesses Still Apply for Accounting Software Grants?
Yes. Eligible Singapore businesses can explore EDGE Grant support for qualifying accounting software solutions.
Accounting software helps businesses improve financial processes by reducing manual work, organising financial records and providing better visibility over business performance.
For businesses still relying on spreadsheets or manual bookkeeping, adopting cloud accounting software can improve efficiency in areas such as:
Sales invoicing and customer payments
Expense and purchase management
Bank reconciliation
GST reporting
Financial statement preparation
Accounts receivable and payable monitoring
Financial reporting and cash flow visibility
However, grant support applies only to qualifying solutions, activities and approved project costs.

Businesses planning to implement Xero may explore the applicable EDGE Grant support available for eligible digital solutions.

Businesses should preferably obtain grant approval before making financial commitments.

Step 6: Complete the Implementation and Submit Your Claim
Once the project is approved, implemented and completed in accordance with the grant requirements, the company may submit its claim with the supporting documents.
EDGE operates on a reimbursement basis, so businesses must complete the required deliverables and make full payment before claiming the approved support.
What Happens to Existing PSG Applications?
Businesses that submitted PSG applications before 30 September 2026 do not need to restart their applications under EDGE.
According to Enterprise Singapore:
Previously submitted PSG applications will continue to be assessed.
Approved PSG projects can continue under their original grant conditions.
Businesses can still submit claims through the Business Grants Portal after project completion.
New projects from 30 September 2026 should use the applicable EDGE activity.
Companies should continue to follow the requirements and deadlines stated in their existing grant approval documents.
Frequently Asked Questions About the EDGE Grant
1. Is the PSG Grant still available in Singapore?
No. PSG ceased accepting new applications on 29 September 2026. From 30 September 2026, new eligible projects can apply through the EDGE Grant framework.
2. Does EDGE replace PSG, EDG and MRA?
Yes. EDGE consolidates these three schemes into one business support framework. Previously submitted applications and ongoing approved projects continue under their respective existing arrangements.
3. Is EDGE the same as the Enterprise Development Grant (EDG)?
No. EDG was a separate grant scheme supporting business transformation. The new EDGE Grant consolidates EDG, PSG and MRA into a broader programme.
4. Can I apply for EDGE if I previously received PSG funding?
Potentially, yes. Businesses that previously received PSG funding may apply for EDGE for a qualifying new project.
However, they should not seek duplicate funding for the same previously supported project. Additional restrictions may apply to particular digital solutions.
5. Can a newly incorporated company apply for EDGE?
A newly incorporated Singapore business may be eligible if it meets the requirements of the selected activity, including local ownership and other applicable conditions.
Incorporation alone does not guarantee eligibility.
6. Does EDGE provide up to 70% funding for accounting software?
Not necessarily. Standard support for SMEs is generally up to 50%. The higher funding rate of up to 70% applies to eligible internationalisation and sustainability activities, not automatically to accounting software purchases.
7. Can I pay the software vendor before applying?
No. Retrospective applications are not supported. Businesses must not commence work or make payments or deposits before submitting their application.
Payment after successful submission but before approval may be considered if the application is subsequently approved, although businesses bear the risk of rejection.
8. Is EDGE funding paid upfront?
No. EDGE generally operates on a reimbursement basis. Businesses must complete the approved activity, fulfil the required deliverables and make payment before submitting a claim.
9. Can I use EDGE to purchase Xero accounting software?
Businesses may explore eligible Xero solutions under the relevant EDGE digitalisation activity. The company, selected package and proposed project must satisfy the applicable eligibility conditions.
10. Does EDGE cover QuickBooks Online?
Funding depends on whether the particular QuickBooks solution and package are currently listed and eligible under the relevant EDGE activity.
Businesses should check the official solution listing instead of assuming that all accounting software subscriptions qualify.
11. Can a company submit multiple EDGE applications?
Yes. Companies can apply for different eligible activities, subject to the applicable limits, funding conditions and annual grant cap.
12. When does the EDGE Grant annual cap reset?
The annual grant cap resets on 1 April, with each grant year running until 31 March of the following year.
